Fair play to him made his decision and that was it, like he said it's his call and sticking around longer just to not upset people is not enough reason to keep fighting .
He's still spouting complete gibberish though, even in his last hoorah, just can't help himself. Sad for his mother who is still alive. His funeral will have a few 'faces, with a few plod there in the background taking some notes, lol. RIP Dave.

The really weird thing about him topping himself is even though he was bald its been discovered he had dandruff, because they found his head and shoulders behind the couch

He was a good mate of my old man. When the old man was on his way out with emphysema, Courtney visited him in hospital and brought him a massive cigar, my old man thought it was brilliant. Another time one of the family was getting a lot of hassle from someone, old man mentioned it to DC and he made a few calls, and the hassle stopped.

one of mates speaks highly of him - and the times he was out with him, that the guy was a gentleman.
personally I thought he might be a cunt - but realised I'd never met him so I should shut up

The documentary Bermondsey Boy from the 80/90s is still worth a watch on on you tube. I knew a fella (now deceased) who was a bit part actor and regularly knocked about with him. He talked of great nights at Camelot castle and how he properly looked out for people which I have no reason to doubt

Seemed like a decent bloke (apart from being a grass) who lived life on his own terms. Would have bet my house on him being wall. RIP

A statement on behalf of the family of Dave Courtney On 22nd October 2023, Dave made the decision to ‘stop the ride.’ He had lived an incredible, colourful rock 'n' roll life in which he toucheed the hearts of so many. The physical pain of living the lifestyle he chose, especially due to the pain of both cancer and arthritis in his Iater years, became too much. So, rather than be a burden to his family and friends, he chose to 'stop the ride' and take his own way out. In his own immortal words 'stop the ride, I want to get off.
